Automotive Spaceframe Study

With the goal to electrify and redesign the 2022 Porsche Macan, the automotive spaceframe project was made to test my crafting abilities and accuracy when fabricating a 1:5 scale spaceframe model.

From foam board to scaled model

Throughout a five week period, I was challenged to sketch side profiles of different types of vehicles such as coupes, hatchbacks, SUVs, and sedans. From there on, my professor chose for me to redesign and electrify the Porsche Macan for the year 2035.

Spaceframe 1:5 Scale Technical Drawings

These technical drawings were made to guide the development of the final model of the spaceframe. Using six poster boards, a successful 1:5 scaled technical drawing was created to make the build process of the model easier and smoother.

Model Construction

With a timeframe of one week, the model was successfully built to the proper scale while following the 1:5 measurements from the third week of development.
